About This Site
This is a website to share those funny “lessons learned” on the homefront while our husbands, wives, sons and daughters are deployed to far away lands.
“I have learned that I can do it all myself, thank-you-very-much.” Army Spouse
The History or Story Behind This Site
This collection of quotes began in March of 2003 when our husbands deployed out of Ft. Carson, Colorado for Operation Iraqi Freedom I. The spouses left behind supported each other and grew into a family.
We relied on humor to get us through the day. We learned that staying in contact was vital and sharing small joys was key. Sharing these lessons learned gave us something to laugh about.
We hope you enjoy these deployment lessons learned from the homefront and can share a few of your own.
This site is dedicated to those wonderful spouses and parents of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Air Defense Artillery, Predator Battery, March 2003-2005.
“Our nation honors her sons and daughters who answered the call to defend a country they never knew and a people they never met.“
