I have learned that it is great to have a dog during deployments.  They keep you company, snuggle in bed at night, bark at strangers at the door, and my dog helped me chase a bird out the front door after it flew inside–what a great dog!  Hohenfels, Germany

I’ve learned that the lines of communication can stay strong and even become stronger while he’s away. Fort Mitchell, KY

I learned that I don’t have to do things exactly like my mother did.  I can have my children strip naked and throw their clothes down the stairs so I don’t fall carrying the over-flowing basket (me included!).  Hohenfles, Germany
