Amen to that. I am on my 4th year of marriage and have yet to spend an anniversary with my husband. When we got married, I thought the AF would be so great b/c we could, as he says, "travel the world together." Fat chance of that happening! He travels the world and leaves me behind to care for our sick baby. I am grateful to the AF for flying him home for the birth of our son, unfortunately, it was b/c we were having complications and he was premature, but fortunately everything turned out okay. Now, as I care for my son and try to maintain my job, working from home, he wishes for care packages. The first deployment, I understood, but now I don't. I don't have time. I was able to find a company online at AAFES, Framesdirect, that will ship sunglasses to APO addresses, so that was nice b/c I didn't have to pack up the sick baby and take off work to go to the post office. What a save! But, that was good for one care package. What else can I get him for an anniversary gift or just a care package? Food...he doesn't want. A card...done that. Magazines...he has read them all. What next? I am not very creative I guess...I wish I was the "do-everything type of woman!"

Ah right! Yes, of course. I am connected to the US army but the website is open to all branches of the military service and NOW to all countries that are deploying, thanks to you! Glad you are here and glad that you are supporting a military man! And a cute Brit at that! HA! :-) Hope

Holy cow! That is amazing that you had to evacuate! I know a few ladies that had to evacuate alone from the last few hurricanes. I can't imagine doing that without my husband to carry our TV! Cheers, Hope

HA! You know, I worked out like mad to loose weight and get into share the last 6 months that my husband was deployed. And I think I lost more in that last week from NERVOUSNESS!! The days and hours just crawled by! ;-) Cheers, Hope

So True! In the 4 years that my husband and I have been married we have never spent an anniversary together. But I have learned to buy myself a nice gift for my anniversary..
